OUR UPRATED STATE OF THE ART 4 POD DYNAPACK 3500 EVO IS CAPABLE OF MEASURING UPTO 2000 BHP ....
that's 1200bhp on FWD or RWD and 2000bhp on 4WD - available for all 2WD or 4WD vehicles.
The Dynapack is similar to a rolling road but directly couples to the vehicles wheel hubs . This means there are no problems associated with tyre/roller slip or tyre wear, increasing the safety and accuracy of measurement.
This is perfect for analysing faults only apparent when driving under load and tweaking the engine for maximum power output.
The equipment is able to measure in real time the engine torque, air intake temperatures, turbo boost pressures and importantly the air/fuel ratio; BHP is calculated and corrected to British DIN standards.
WHAT EXACTLY DO I GET FROM A POWER RUN?
The Chassis Dynamometer (similar to a rolling road)measures....
TORQUE at the wheel hubs
Calculates the POWER at the hubs
Manifold PRESSURE
AIR FUEL RATIO (or Lambda ) with a Bosch LSU4 wideband O2 sensor.
HOW DO WE PERFORM A POWER RUN?
1st we select the nearest gear to a 1:1 ratio as possible.
For most manual cars the top gear is an overdrive gear and thus the previous one is normally the 1:1 drive (so 5th for a 6 speed and 3rd for a 4 speed).
For auto's it is normal to hold them in Drive "D". Most makes of auto are difficult and power runs are hard to perform as they keep changing gear.
We then take a steady state control run from 3000rpm to synchronise the Dyno RPM to the car RPM. i.e. work out the rear differential gear ratio if it's unknown. Normally somewhere between 3.8 and 4.2 for most cars.
We can make a power run over any RPM range we like. Normally the run starts at 2000rpm and ends at the beginning of the RPM red line or 500rpm before. 7000rpm for example. AET staff members always ask the owner first if they have a preference.
The power run is a controlled power run and if the equipment has 4000rpm set to be the maximum RPM for the run no matter what anyone does it will NOT go above that.
So if you aren't happy to hit the rev limiter (which we prefer not to) then we can set this 500rpm below.
Most cars have already reached their max power before rev limiter anyway.

2WD DYNO POWER RUN

This consists of up to a maximum of 6 actual runs and a colour plot of torque, BHP, air fuel ratio and air inlet temperatures. Providing you with a full diagnostic of your vehicle.
NOTE: Your vehicle must be fit to run on the dyno and any other work required to enable the dyno power run to take place will be charged at normal workshop rates.
4WD DYNO POWER RUN
£70.00+vat - £82.25 inc
This consists of up to a maximum of 6 actual runs and a colour plot of torque, BHP, air fuel ratio and air inlet temperatures. Providing you with a full diagnostic of your vehicle.

WHAT DAYS ARE AVAILABLE?
The dyno is available Monday - Friday 8.30am - 5.00pm with 30 mins break at lunch time .

PRICE TERMS ?
Prices are for hire of the cell and technician to control and run the dyno. Mapping is responsibility of the customer. If mapping is required rate negotiated separately.
Time starts from when vehicle enters the cell and finishes when vehicle exits the cell.
All bookings must be made 24 hrs in advance. Were a customer does not arrive for there booked time and has not given 24hrs notice of this, a 50% charge will be made for the time booked.
All vehicles must be in a condition fit to run on the dyno . Any work carried out to rectify faults whatever they may be to enable the vehicle to run properly will be charged at our STD hourly rate. This applies for power runs and work done outside the cell. Work carried out whilst in the cell will be charged @ dyno hire hourly rate. The standard hourly rate is £50.00/hr.
